ISRAEL, WOMEN & WAR

A Militant

Language

In sport, culture, politics, and the media we use military language, or the even the language of the army itself.

The expressions of violence and the militarism, so ingrained in the Israeli discourse, have become banal and commonplace.

Perhaps the essence of the problem in thinking about these military expressions is not only that we accepted them as normal, but that they inhibit our ability to look at the world through a different (ie civilian) framework.

On the left: how to sell condoms while encouraging healthy and mutual sexuality that is acted with consent by both sides."
